SIGN EXAMINING BOARD

Appointment Process: Appointed by Mayor; Approved by Omaha City Council (except designated city employees)

Special Qualifications: City chief electrical inspector; city chief building inspector; one member of a licensed master sign erector, licensed and active within the city jurisdiction for two years prior; one member is a licensed journeyman sign erector, licensed for two years prior; one member represents the public at large.

Summary of Duties: The board creates, conducts and grades all examinations for certificates of competency for sign erection. The board has authority to revoke the city license of any master or journeyman sign erector.
